Fringed Loosestrife

Named for the tiny hairs that fringe its leaf stalks, Fringed Loosestrife is a brightly flowered perennial that adds color to wet areas. The five-petaled yellow flowers can grow to about three-fifths of an inch long. Several grow from each stalk located near the top of the plant. The plant can grow up to three feet tall and has a smooth stem that can have several branches. The smooth-edged leaves of the Fringed Loosestrife can be six inches long and two-and-a-half inches wide.

The Fringed Loosestrife grows in areas with full sun or light shade and moist soil such as meadows, marshes and lowland forests.
